I was trying to create VMs and join those automatically to the Active Directory domain but somehow I reached the limit and everytime I was trying to join a new one I was getting the following message: “Maximum Number of Computer Accounts Allowed in This Domain”
After using Google a little bit I was able to find the solution with the following steps:
1. In the AD controller run adsiedit.msc
2. Identify the DC and browse the DC=
3. Once you have it, select it and right click on it, go to properties
4. Scroll down to DS-MachineAccountQuota and change it to your desired value.
I know it would be better with some screenshots but I just don’t have enough time at the moment. Maybe later.
